Hey all!! Have you ever worked up enough courage to drive to the gym, but not enough courage to walk in the door? You sit in the parking lot for a little bit giving yourself a pep talk, and then finally...you just drive away. Or maybe you grit your teeth
Hey all!! Have you ever worked up enough courage to drive to the gym, but not enough courage to walk in the door?
You sit in the parking lot for a little bit giving yourself a pep talk, and then finally...you just drive away.
Or maybe you grit your teeth and walk in...and see all the people doing all the crazy things LOL and think...that could never be me. It's too big of a leap. It's too big of a chasm to cross.
I get that. It's like joining a new Sunday School class or visiting a new church.
You're worried about being judged. You're just a sinner and all these people are church people and they will look down on you. You don't even have nice church clothes LOL.
Well, if it's the right kind of church, the kind you want to be a part of, they will know that we are all sinners saved by the God's grace and they won't look at your clothes. They'll be glad that you came and they will know that God is pushing you to come and the only way you could find the courage is from God.
Same with the gym...if it's a community you want to be a part of, the people won't judge you for being out of shape, for letting yourself go, for not having the latest gym fashion LOL.
In fact, at MaxFit at The Refinerery almost nobody walks in the door an athlete already. Mostly it's moms and dads, and grandparents, trying to feel better, have more energy, get off some of their medication, and maybe just maybe, if we are lucky, look a tiny bit better in the mirror. LOL
So, if you are that person who is gonna sit in the parking lot trying to work up the courage, message me or Kensey or any of the coaches, before you come. If at all possible, one of us will meet you there and walk in with you.
Before long, you will be one of the people doing all the things and a scared newbie will look at you and say, Dang, I can never be like her (or him).
I've seen it a hundred times.
